Our client, a leader in industrial automation and manufacturing solutions, is seeking a Global Director, Electrical Controls and Embedded Systems to join their team. As a Global Director, Electrical Controls and Embedded Systems, you will be part of the Engineering Department supporting global engineering initiatives. The ideal candidate will have strong strategic vision, excellent leadership skills, and a passion for innovation, which will align successfully in the organization.
Job Title: Global Director, Electrical Controls and Embedded Systems
Location: Green Bay, Wisconsin
Pay Range: $180,000 - $230,000
What's the Job?
- Lead and inspire a global team of over 60 engineers specializing in electrical design, embedded systems, PLC programming, and software development.
- Provide hands-on technical guidance in embedded system design, firmware development, and industrial network integration.
- Develop and execute platform strategies for controls, data acquisition, and automation features to ensure scalable and reliable solutions.
- Drive operational excellence by improving engineering quality, efficiency, and responsiveness across international sites.
- Collaborate cross-functionally with product management, manufacturing, and field service teams to support design-for-manufacturing and lifecycle management initiatives.
What's Needed?
- Bachelor's or Master's degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, or a related technical field.
- 10+ years of engineering experience in automation, embedded systems, or capital equipment, with at least 5 years in global leadership roles.
- Proven experience managing large engineering teams (50+ members) and developing technical talent across multiple locations.
- Expertise in embedded C/C++, Python, Java, and industrial control platforms such as Siemens and Rockwell.
- Deep understanding of vision systems, sensor integration, and industrial networks like EtherNet/IP and ProfNet.
