Our client, a well-respected, $200M+ specialty contractor in the Midwest, is seeking an experienced Human Resources Executive to join its leadership team. The VPHR will build and lead a modern HR function aligned with the company’s operational goals and long-term growth strategy. This executive will serve as a strategic partner to the CEO and senior leadership team, driving workforce planning, succession, leadership development, and performance systems while strengthening the overall HR function.
Key Responsibilities
Establish workforce planning processes aligned with growth and construction project pipeline
Implement and optimize a modern HRIS platform
Lead succession planning for key roles and strengthen management capabilities
Introduce meaningful HR metrics, dashboards, and reporting
Ensure compliance within a union-influenced, multi-site environment
Build structured systems across recruiting, onboarding, performance management, and career development
Candidate Requirements
15+ years of progressive HR leadership experience
5+ years HR leadership experience in construction, skilled trades, or other project-driven labor services environment
Experience modernizing HR infrastructure in growing organizations
Union experience and HRIS implementation experience preferred
