Position Title: Graphic Designer II
Work Location: Mettawa, Illinois, USA 60045
Assignment Duration: 12 Month
Work Arrangement: Hybrid - Onsite on Tue, Wed, Thurs. Daily Work Schedule Expectations 9am - 5pm CST.
Position Summary:
As a Designer, you'll join a culturally diverse group of 90+ strategic and creative explorers at an in-house advertising agency for a biopharmaceutical company with 29,000+ employees.
You'll be part of a close-knit team-senior designers, web developers, motion artists, writers, editors, and account managers-that partner with cross-functional stakeholders to support 30+ leading brands. Together, you'll develop multichannel materials for affiliates in 80+ countries.
Background & Context:
This is a brand new role created due to increased workload on the team. Role focuses on medical and educational content rather than purely commercial creative work.
Key Responsibilities:
Design digital materials: websites, landing pages, infographics, banner ads, user interfaces, emails, interactive PDFs, and more
Create and update content-heavy PowerPoint presentations on Mac
Focus on user interface design for interactive modules presented on a tablet.
Partner with content experts to interpret complex, scientific information and concepts and translate them into easy-to-understand graphs, charts, and infographics
Familiarity with website design & UI/UX best practices
Familiarity with Photoshop, InDesign, and Illustrator to edit, resize, and enhance images and artwork for use within PowerPoint.
Use Acrobat to apply annotations from editors and clients
Work side by side with creative managers, writers, video editors, and account managers to complete.
Communicate with creative and project teams and drive projects to completion in a fast-paced environment
Willing to take instruction and adapt to established formatting guidelines; ability to add creative value when needed
Perform photo and vector searches on stock websites and internal databases
Conceptualize and execute materials that meet brand standards
Develop creative solutions within the confines of FDA regulations
Qualifications & Experience:
Education + experience: Bachelor's degree in design or related discipline; 2+ years of experience working in a creative agency environment
Technical skills: Proficiency in PowerPoint and digital design applications such as of InDesign, Photoshop, Illustrator, Figma, Sketch, etc; fluency in Mac environment; maintain awareness of current design trends and new techniques and technology.
Soft skills: High degree of organizational skill and initiative to drive projects to completion in a fast-paced environment; ability to absorb and respond to constructive feedback from clients and creative management; ability to turn projects around quickly as well as good problem-solving and presentation skills; knowledge of digital mediums and tailoring design toward proper UI/UX
Portfolio: Portfolio must include a variety of dynamic PowerPoint presentations that showcase slide transitions, animated elements, video, data visualization, and good typography. Present other brand/design work for digital materials: infographics, banner ads, emails, and interactive PDFs
Working files: Bring working PowerPoint files and other creative digital work to on-site interviews and be prepared to walk us through your creative thinking and problem-solving solutions.
Proficient in design programs such as Figma/XD/Sketch/Adobe Creative Suite
Proficient in website design, banner ad design, UI/UX best practices
Ability to comfortably work with charts and interpret complex clinical data
Proficient in PPT and designing large interactive presentations for iPad
Ability to work efficiently on multiple projects each week.
