Survey Crew Chief
to support our growing portfolio of transportation and other survey projects with state and local agencies in Central and Northeast Florida. This is an exciting opportunity for a self-motivated leader who thrives in a dynamic environment and is passionate about precision and quality.
This position is based
out of our Orlando office,
with fieldwork required throughout the surrounding area .
Key Responsibilities: Complete all assigned tasks promptly, be diligent in field procedures, and always maintain company standards. Lead a field survey crew and supervise crew members assisting in survey assignments. Types of surveys performed: Transportation Design Surveys, Right of Way Surveys, Boundary and Topographic Surveys, ALTA/ACSM Land Title Surveys, Construction Staking. Follow instructions/work orders from office survey staff and project managers to support project goals. Ensure all survey work is compliant with applicable laws, rules, and regulations. Read and interpret construction plans and drawings to guide field operations. Ensure proper documentation, field notes, and data transfer to office staff. Maintain a safe work environment.
Skills and Qualifications: 3-4 years of crew chief field survey experience. Ability to work as part of a team and interact successfully with staff. Strong verbal and written communication skills. Proficient with FDOT Standards/survey requirements. Ability to work in varied weather conditions. Excellent time management and organizational skills. Valid driver’s license and clean driving record. Proficiency with Leica and Trimble survey equipment. Ability to travel out of town to job sites and work outdoors in varying conditions. High school diploma or GED.
