Human Resources Manager — Bergen County, NJ
Here’s the deal:
You need a hands-on HR leader who can own Employee Relations, keep Operations aligned, and protect the business without slowing it down. This role is built for someone who thrives in a fast-paced, multi-location environment and knows how to navigate complex jurisdictions like NJ and NYC. What You’ll Own Partner with Operations, Management, and HR leadership to drive day‑to‑day HR support across the region. Lead all Employee Relations activity: investigations, documentation, recommendations, and consistent application of company policy. Manage all EthicsPoint cases for the region and ensure timely, well‑documented resolution. Draft clear, defensible investigation summaries and escalate appropriately to Legal or senior HR. Analyze ER trends to identify risk, strengthen policy, and reduce case volume. Maintain compliance across federal, state, and local regulations; proactively flag risk. Deliver training to managers on employee relations and fair employment practices. Support performance management and development in partnership with Learning & Development. Coordinate legal files and documentation for claims and suits within the market. Partner with Benefits on accommodations, Fitness for Duty, safety concerns, and return‑to‑work. Represent the company during DOL investigations or legal matters as needed. Step in to support another HR Manager’s region during PTO coverage. Assist with company events, culture initiatives, and engagement programs. What You Bring Proven experience handling
high‑volume ER casework
with strong investigative judgment. Deep knowledge of
employment law
and multi‑state compliance (NYC/NJ preferred). Strong emotional intelligence and the ability to navigate high‑conflict, high‑stakes situations with professionalism. Ability to coach and influence leaders—not just deliver decisions. Top‑tier communication skills: active listening, negotiation, and clear written documentation. Highly organized, decisive, and fast on follow‑through. Ability to maintain confidentiality, think strategically, and execute in real time. Comfortable working flexible hours with
20–30% travel
to restaurant/field locations.
