Job Description:
Insight Global's client is hiring a Director of Operations to lead carrier procurement, brokerage operations, and people management for a growing logistics operation. This is a hands-on leadership role for someone who can step in and make an immediate impact.
Preferred Experience: Strong transportation & logistics background Brokerage and carrier procurement experience is critical Experience with open deck, drayage, OD/OG, or heavy haul Background in 3PL or freight brokerage (TQL, RXO, Arrive Logistics, Ryder, etc. a plus) Proven people leader who has managed managers and large teams Someone who can hit the ground running and lead without heavy training
Role Responsibilities: Own the carrier procurement and brokerage operations for standard freight, open deck, drayage, and heavy haul Lead and develop a team of 3–4 managers, with 35–40 total team members Oversee daily operations to ensure service, cost, and performance targets are met Interface directly with carriers and strengthen carrier relationships Bring on new carrier partners and improve procurement strategy Manage budgets, costs, and operational performance Ensure teams are executing consistently and following best practices Solve problems quickly and keep operations running smoothly
