
Tax Analyst

We are seeking a detail-oriented Sales & Use Tax Analyst to support indirect tax compliance and reporting. This role is responsible for ensuring accurate calculation, reporting, and remittance of sales and use taxes across multiple jurisdictions, while staying up to date with evolving tax regulations.
Key Responsibilities
Prepare and file
sales and use tax returns
across multiple states and jurisdictions
Ensure timely and accurate tax remittance and compliance with state and local regulations
Maintain and update tax rates and rules within tax software systems
Review transactions to ensure proper taxability and correct application of sales tax
Reconcile sales tax payable accounts and investigate discrepancies
Assist with
tax audits , including gathering documentation and responding to inquiries
Monitor changes in tax laws and assess impact on business operations
Collaborate with internal teams (finance, billing, legal, and operations)
Support exemption certificate management and validation processes
Assist with process improvements and automation of tax reporting
Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field
2–4 years of experience in sales and use tax or indirect tax
Strong understanding of multi-state tax regulations
Experience with tax compliance software (e.g., Vertex, Avalara, or similar)
Proficiency in Microsoft Excel (data analysis, lookups, reconciliations)
Familiarity with ERP systems (e.g., NetSuite, SAP, Oracle) preferred
Key Skills

Analytical and problem-solving abilities
Ability to manage deadlines across multiple jurisdictions
Effective communication and documentation skills
Organizational skills with ability to handle large datasets
Preferred Experience
Experience in
e-commerce, SaaS, or technology companies
Familiarity with economic nexus rules and marketplace facilitator laws
Exposure to tax automation tools and system implementations
Experience supporting state and local tax audits
Cross-functional collaboration with accounting, legal, and operations teams
Opportunity to work on process improvements and automation initiatives
Compensation: $65,000 to $70,000 annually
Compensation is based on a range of factors that include relevant experience, knowledge, skills, other job-related qualifications.
