Job Description
Temporary Technical Designer (Multiple Openings)
Duration:
~4–5 weeks (Immediate start through April 24)
Location:
San Francisco – mostly on site but some work can be done from home
Hourly rate:
$30-50
Overview We are seeking multiple Temporary Technical Designers to support an accelerated product development initiative. These roles will focus on tech pack creation, auditing, and standardization across a range of apparel categories in a fast-paced environment.
This is a highly executional role requiring individuals who can quickly assess existing work, identify gaps, and deliver accurate, production-ready tech packs.
Category coverage may include: Outerwear, Knit Tops, Woven Tops, Activewear, Intimates, Denim & Pants, Lounge.
Note: Experience does not need to perfectly align with these categories. We are open to candidates with a mix of category experience, as long as there is strong technical design capability and adaptability.
Scope of Work Phase 1: Tech Pack Audit & Development (Now – April 3)
Audit and review existing tech packs for completeness and accuracy
Complete missing tech packs across select categories
Add missing spec information including POMs, construction details, materials, and trims
Migrate key POMs from legacy tech pack formats into updated templates
Enhance tech packs to support costing initiatives, including detailed construction info and product imagery
Phase 2: Standardization, Enhancement & Fit Support (April 6 – April 24)
Transition tech packs with outdated fit blocks and update formats across departments
Continue to add and refine missing spec information
Enhance tech packs with product imagery, digital patterns, and material information
Measure and evaluate proto and initial fit samples
Support fit sessions and provide clear, actionable feedback
Qualifications
3+ years of experience in Technical Design (apparel)
Strong experience with tech pack creation, auditing, and spec development
Solid understanding of garment construction, fit, POM development, and grading
Ability to work in a high-volume, deadline-driven environment
Strong attention to detail and organizational skills
Proficiency in PLM systems and Adobe Illustrator preferred
Preferred Experience & Attributes
Expertise in materials and fabrication including stretch, recovery, compression, and moisture-wicking
Familiarity with extended sizing including plus and maternity (nice to have)
Solution-oriented mindset with ability to operate with speed and precision
Adaptability across multiple product categories
Ideal Candidate
