Position: Residential Life Administrator
Annual Salary:
$82,008, plus a $2.00 per hour shift differential for the evening shift schedule
Job Location:
3815 Magnolia Ave., St. Louis, MO
This is a 12-month position with primary responsibility for planning, coordinating, and supervising activities for students enrolled in the Residential component of the Missouri School for the Blind’s programs including overseeing daily operations and staff assigned to the Residential program.
Plan, coordinate, and supervise a variety of evening activities, creating a monthly calendar.
Serve as a mentor and role model to students as they explore hobbies, engage in new experiences, and develop social skills.
Maintain oversight of Independent Student Dorms (ISD) in conjunction with the Home School Coordinator, LIFE staff, and Assistant Superintendent.
Establish and maintain open communication with students’ families and relay necessary information between home and school to provide best care.
Coordinate weekly transportation for residential students with support from Leadership Team.
Work in concert with the Assistant Superintendent and Leadership Team to ensure cohesive operation of MSB’s services (Education, Athletics, and Residential programs).
Serve as hiring manager for Residential Advisors (RAs)/Dorm Director/Home School Coordinator by completing interviews, reference checks, & employee onboarding with support from the Leadership Team.
Supervise, coach, and evaluate all staff within the Residential Program.
Maintain residential staff schedules and monitor employees’ leave requests and payroll with assistance from the Dorm Director.
Work in cooperation with the Professional Development Coordinator and Leadership Team to provide staff training and professional development designed to refine staff skills and promote MSB’s vision, mission, and beliefs.
The successful individual will have a Masters’ degree in Recreational Therapy, Fitness and Recreation, Vision Rehab Therapy, Teacher of the Visually Impaired, or a related area.
Three years of supervisory or programming experience (preferred).
Valid Missouri Class E Driver’s License with an S endorsement (Note: This license is required to drive our vans; applicant does not drive school buses).
