About this position: Vaco has been engaged by a locally owned corporation to hire a

Human Resources Director

to lead and oversee all HR functions across the organization. This individual will partner closely with executive leadership to develop and execute strategic HR initiatives that align with overall business objectives. The ideal candidate is a forward-thinking HR leader with a passion for building strong organizational culture, driving performance, and ensuring operational excellence across all areas of Human Resources.

Responsibilities:

Provide strategic leadership and direction for all Human Resources functions, including talent acquisition, employee relations, benefits, compliance, and organizational development

Partner with executive leadership to develop and implement HR strategies that support business goals and drive organizational growth

Oversee and enhance onboarding and orientation programs to ensure a strong employee experience and alignment with company culture

Direct the administration of benefits programs, including insurance and 401(k), and ensure competitive and compliant offerings

Ensure compliance with all federal, state, and local employment laws and regulations; lead audits and risk mitigation efforts

Lead safety and health initiatives, including oversight of safety programs, training, and reporting requirements

Serve as a key advisor to leadership on employee relations matters, performance management, and organizational effectiveness

Represent the organization in employee-related investigations, hearings, and external engagements as needed

Develop and oversee training and development programs to support leadership growth and employee engagement

Build and manage relationships with external vendors and partners to support HR operations

Stay current on HR trends, best practices, and regulatory changes to continuously improve HR processes and policies

Requirements:

10+ years of progressive Human Resources experience, with at least 3–5 years in a leadership role

Strong experience in strategic HR leadership, including talent management, employee engagement, compliance, and organizational development

Proven ability to partner with executive leadership and influence business decisions

Bachelor’s degree required; HR certification(s) such as SHRM-CP, SHRM-SCP, PHR, or SPHR strongly preferred

High level of integrity, professionalism, and a passion for developing people and organizations
