Position Summary: The Assistant Superintendent supports the Superintendent in managing daily field operations on construction projects. This role is ideal for a professional with 2–5 years of construction experience who is looking to grow into a lead field leadership position. The Assistant Superintendent helps ensure projects are completed safely, on schedule, and in accordance with quality standards. Key Responsibilities: Assist the Superintendent with day-to-day on-site construction activities and coordination of subcontractors Monitor project schedules and help ensure work is completed on time and in sequence Enforce jobsite safety standards and participate in safety meetings and inspections Support quality control efforts by inspecting work for compliance with plans, specifications, and codes Help coordinate deliveries, materials, and equipment to maintain workflow efficiency Maintain daily logs, reports, and documentation of jobsite activities Assist in resolving field issues, conflicts, and RFIs in coordination with the project team Communicate effectively with subcontractors, vendors, and internal team members Ensure jobsite cleanliness, organization, and adherence to company standards Qualifications: 2–5 years of experience in commercial or residential construction (field experience required) Bachelor’s degree in Construction Management, Engineering, or related field preferred (or equivalent experience) Basic understanding of construction methods, scheduling, and safety practices Familiarity with construction drawings, specifications, and building codes Strong communication, organization, and problem-solving skills Proficiency in construction software (e.g., Procore, Bluebeam, or similar tools) is a plus Preferred Skills: OSHA 10 or OSHA 30 certification Experience working on ground-up or large-scale renovation projects Ability to read and interpret construction documents Strong attention to detail and willingness to learn in a fast-paced environment Work Environment: Primarily based on active construction jobsites Requires walking, standing, climbing, and working in varying weather conditions May require occasional extended hours to meet project deadlines
