Sales Account Manager
The Sales Account Manager will drive revenue growth for our client's engineering project business by originating, developing, and closing opportunities with new and existing industrial customers and strategic partners. This will require building deep relationships with plant leadership, engineering, maintenance, and project teams, positioning our client as the preferred engineering partner for controls design, UL panel fabrication, PLC/HMI programming, and turnkey automation upgrades.
Responsibilities:
* Proactively identify and qualify new opportunities (controls upgrades, line modernizations, new automation systems, panel shop projects) through outreach, networking, OEM/GC relationships, and industry events
* Build and maintain strong relationships at multiple levels within customer organizations (plant managers, engineering managers, maintenance leaders, project managers, purchasing)
* Lead the front-end sales process for engineering opportunities, especially discovery and relationship building
* Identify strategic opportunities (new geographies, OEM/GC partners, verticals) where the business can expand its electrical installation footprint
Required Skills & Experience:
* Must have at least 5 years of experience in B2B sales or account management in industrial, electrical contracting, or automation markets
* Must have demonstrated success selling services or projects to manufacturing or industrial, customers
* Must have strong understanding of engineering-based work (controls design, panel fabrication, programming, integration, etc.) and how automation projects and estimated/executed
* Must be available to work Monday to Friday from 8am to 4:30pm
* Must be able to travel locally and throughout the United States
Preferred Skills & Experience:
* Experience selling for an industrial electrical contractor
* Familiar with engineering scopes (PLC/HMI programming, UL 508A panels, VFDs, network architecture, safety systems, etc.)
