
SAP MDG - EAM Functional Consultant

Must Have Technical/Functional Skills The SAP MDG EAM Solution Lead is responsible for designing, implementing, and governing enterprise-wide Equipment and Functional Location (FLOC) master data using SAP Master Data Governance. This role acts as the design authority and solution owner for MDG EAM, ensuring standardized, compliant, and high quality asset master data across a multi plant, multi system landscape integrated with SAP S/4HANA EAM and external platforms.
Roles & Responsibilities • Key Responsibilities • MDG EAM Solution & Architecture • Led enterprise MDG EAM Prometheus rollout for Equipment and Functional Location master data across a global, multi plant landscape. • Defined MDG target architecture (MDG Hub vs Co deployment) and designed integration with SAP S/4HANA EAM. • Acted as solution owner and design authority for MDG EAM implementations. • Data Governance & Operating Model • Owned end to end governance design for asset master lifecycle (Create, Change, Extend, Block, Obsolete). • Defined global RACI model for Data Owners, Stewards, and Custodians. • Established global MDG operating model, Data Council, governance cadence, and escalation framework for critical asset changes. • Data Model & Customizing • Configured MDG EAM data model (USMD_EAM) including entity types, attributes, UI groupings, and enhancements. • Designed custom fields, extensions, and key mappings using MDG data model enhancements. • Defined global standards for Equipment, FLOC, Classes, Characteristics, and Measurement Points. • Designed harmonization strategy for legacy asset structures into standardized MDG domains. • Defined number range and key mapping strategy across connected systems. • Workflow & Process Design • Designed and implemented BRF+ based workflows for Equipment and FLOC: • Requestor Technical Reviewer Reliability Finance Data Owner • Built dynamic workflow routing based on asset category, plant, and asset criticality. • Implemented parallel workflows for mass changes vs critical assets. • Established SLA based governance KPIs for workflow cycle time and approval latency. • Validation, Derivation & Data Quality • Implemented BRF+ validations for mandatory fields, cross field dependencies, and plant specific rules. • Designed derivation logic for planner group, maintenance plant, ABC indicator, and asset criticality. • Integrated Data Quality Management (DQM) for duplicate detectio n, standardization, and enrichment. • Designed duplicate prevention using fuzzy search and classification similarity. • UI / Fiori & User Experience • Designed custom Fiori apps for Create Equipment, Create FLOC, Change Asset, and Mass Maintenance. • Built role based UI layouts for engineers, planners, reliability, and finance teams. • Implemented field control logic (hidden/mandatory/read only) by workflow step. • Optimized usability through simplified screens and guided processes to drive adoption. • Integration & Replication • Designed MDG replication framework to SAP S/4HANA EAM, PM modules, and external systems (Maximo, GIS, IoT). • Configured DRF (Data Replication Framework) for real time and batch replication. • Managed IDoc and SOA services for asset synchronization. • Implemented error handling and reprocessing models for failed replications. • Data Migration & Cutover • Led legacy asset data migration into MDG EAM including mapping, cleansing, enrichment, and validation. • Designed mock loads, dress rehearsals, and owned cutover strategy. • Ensured post migration reconciliation of Equipment and FLOC counts and attributes. • Security, Controls & Compliance • Designed role based authorization and segregation of duties for MDG EAM. • Ensured audit compliance and traceability for asset master changes. • Reporting & KPIs • Built governance KPIs including first pass approval rate, duplicate rate, workflow duration, and data completeness score. • Designed MDG cockpit dashboards and reported governance maturity to executive stakeholders. • Leadership & Delivery • Led cross functional teams across IT, Maintenance, Reliability, and Finance. • Delivered global design workshops, training, and rollout support. • Mentored functional consultants and internal teams. • Owned business case and ROI justification for enterprise MDG programs.•

Base Salary Range: $140,000 - $160,000 per annum
