Customs Brokerage Agent | Bensenville, Illinois | Salary: Up to $60,000
This role is responsible for preparing and submitting accurate customs entries, ensuring compliance with U.S. Customs regulations, and facilitating the smooth clearance of international shipments. The ideal candidate will have strong knowledge of import procedures, excellent organizational skills, and the ability to thrive in a fast-paced logistics environment.

Key Responsibilities Prepare and transmit customs entries for import shipments in a timely and accurate manner Classify goods using the Harmonized Tariff Schedule (HTS) Ensure compliance with U.S. Customs and Border Protection (CBP) regulations and other government agencies Review shipping documents including commercial invoices, packing lists, and bills of lading Communicate with clients, carriers, and government agencies to resolve clearance issues Monitor shipments and provide status updates to customers Maintain accurate records and documentation in accordance with company and regulatory requirements Calculate duties, taxes, and fees associated with imports Assist with post-entry processes, audits, and corrections as needed
Qualifications 1-3 years of experience in customs brokerage or freight forwarding (Entry Writer experience preferred) Knowledge of U.S. import regulations and customs procedures Familiarity with HTS classification and duty calculation Experience using customs brokerage software (e.g., ABI systems) Strong attention to detail and organizational skills
