Civil Designer
We are seeking a talented and motivated Civil Designer to join our dynamic team. The ideal candidate will engage in a diverse range of civil engineering duties, providing technical expertise in MicroStation and/or AutoCAD, and utilizing Microsoft Office programs. This role offers the opportunity to work on large‑scale public sector infrastructure projects and requires a passion for land development and water resource design. Responsibilities
Collaborate with the Project Engineer on various civil engineering tasks. Engage in project design, including roads, drainage, sediment control, stormwater management, water, and sewer systems. Prepare graphics, exhibits, and site/civil construction plans. Communicate effectively with coworkers, sub‑consultants, clients, and review agencies. Compose technical reports, memorandums, and other written communications. Manage multiple concurrent projects efficiently to meet deadlines and budgets. Mentor and train junior civil engineering design staff. Participate in site visits approximately one day a week. Essential Skills
At least 2‑3 years of experience in land development or water resource design. Proficiency in MicroStation and/or AutoCAD. Strong project management capabilities. Ability to handle multiple projects simultaneously. Demonstrated ability to meet project and client deadlines. Additional Skills & Qualifications
Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering. EIT certification is strongly preferred but not required. Experience in the design and construction of land development projects in the Washington DC Metro area. Specific experience in Prince George’s County is a plus. Interest in site visits and hands‑on project involvement. Work Environment
The work environment offers flexibility with two remote workdays and every other Friday off. The company is privately held with opportunities for bonuses and stock options based on performance. The office is small, fostering a close‑knit atmosphere, with locations in Lanham, Rockville (HQ), Waldorf, or Leonardtown. The team is engaged in a steady workload with over $15M in project backlog, including exciting projects such as the new Geico HQ in District Heights, MD. Job Type & Location
