Ophthalmology Sales Specialist - Indianapolis

Established Search are partnered with an innovation-focused pharmaceutical organization in the growth of their ophthalmology team across the US.
This role is ideal for commercially driven professionals with experience in both speciality pharma and buy-and-bill products who are looking to work with unique products that will allow them to collaborate with physicians across general ophthalmology, retina and rare disease specialists.
You will be responsible for driving market development, physician engagement and patient identification across the territory and play a key role in delivering growth objectives for the organisation.
Key Responsibilities:
Drive demand through clinical education and engagement with referring and treating healthcare providers
Develop and execute territory and account-level strategies to support physician and patient identification, market development, and brand awareness
Identify and prioritize high-value accounts, optimizing time and resources to maximize impact
Build and implement tailored account plans for key physicians and institutions
Establish and maintain strong, insight-driven relationships with healthcare providers through effective pre-call planning and follow-up
Collaborate cross-functionally with medical, market access, patient services, and other internal stakeholders to support patient access and therapy initiation
Partner externally with key accounts to expand disease awareness and support patient identification initiatives
Ensure all activities are conducted with the highest standards of integrity and compliance
Support additional business initiatives as needed
Experience required:
Bachelor’s degree required; advanced degree (MBA, MS, or similar) preferred
5+ years of successful pharmaceutical or biotech sales experience, ideally within rare disease, retina, or specialty markets
Strong experience engaging Retina Specialists, Ophthalmologists, and Eye Care Professionals highly preferred
Proven track record of success in competitive product launches and market growth
Solid understanding of payer dynamics, patient services, and specialty distribution channels
Experience working with patient support programs and reimbursement pathways
Demonstrated ability to develop and execute territory-level business plans
Strong analytical, organizational, and problem-solving capabilities
Highly collaborative, adaptable, and comfortable operating in a fast-paced or evolving commercial environment
We are offering a highly competitive salary package (varying based on experience) with short and long term bonuses and a range of benefits.
Up to 50% travel required with occasional overnight travel
