Sr. Technical Designer

The Senior Technical Designer is responsible for leading all aspects of technical development, ensuring consistency in fit, construction, and overall garment execution across collections. This role partners closely with Design and Production to bring the brand’s aesthetic to life while maintaining the highest standards of quality and precision.
What You’ll Do Technical Development & Fit Ownership
Lead and execute all fit sessions in partnership with Design leadership
Analyze fit issues and provide clear technical direction, including construction solutions and pattern corrections
Ensure consistent fit balance, proportion, and silhouette across all collections
Approve workmanship, finishing, and overall garment execution prior to bulk production
Create and maintain highly detailed tech packs, including construction call-outs, graded POMs, stitching, finishing, and trim application
Own spec accuracy and grading consistency across all deliveries
Ensure all styles are production-ready prior to factory release
Factory Communication & Sample Follow-Up
Serve as the primary technical liaison with overseas and domestic factories
Communicate fit corrections, construction standards, and workmanship expectations through clear written and visual direction
Track and follow up on sample development, approvals, and timelinesReview factory feedback and provide solutions aligned with design intent and costing
Cross-Functional Collaboration
Partner daily with Design, Production, and Product Development teams to support seasonal milestones
Align technical feasibility with costing, allocation, and delivery timelines
Support bulk readiness through PP approvals and TOP evaluations
Maintain organized documentation and sample tracking
Seasonal Workflow & Delivery Management
Prioritize workload based on deadlines, factory capacity, and business needs
Identify risks early and elevate potential delays or quality concerns
Who You Are
7+ years of Technical Design experience in women’s contemporary or luxury RTW
Strong expertise in dresses, occasionwear, draped constructions, soft tailoring, and novelty fabrics
Advanced knowledge of patternmaking, grading, garment construction, and fit correction
Proven ability to manage high-volume development under tight seasonal deadlines
Strong communication skills with the ability to deliver clear, concise technical direction
Highly detail-oriented with strong organizational and prioritization skills
Nice to Have
Experience working with overseas factories (China, India) and complex global development calendars
Background in fast-paced or high-growth fashion environments
Experience mentoring or supporting junior team members
