Associate Director Technical/M&A Accounting
role. This role is
hybrid in the Bay Area. This person will be the company's top technical accounting resource, including M&A and revenue arrangements with complex milestones. The Associate Director of Technical Accounting & M&A will play a key role in supporting complex accounting matters, including technical accounting research, implementation of new accounting standards, and accounting for mergers, acquisitions, divestitures, and strategic investments. This role will partner closely with Corporate Accounting, FP&A, Legal, Tax, and external auditors to ensure accurate financial reporting and compliance with U.S. GAAP. Hands-on M&A experience, and the ability to operate independently in a fast-paced, high-growth environment. Key Responsibilities
Technical Accounting
Serve as a subject matter expert on U.S. GAAP, including preparation of technical accounting memos and position papers for complex transactions. Advise on accounting implications for revenue recognition, stock-based compensation, leases, business combinations, equity transactions, and other non-routine items. M&A and Strategic Transactions
Lead accounting due diligence for mergers, acquisitions, and other strategic transactions. Prepare and review purchase price accounting, including valuation inputs, opening balance sheets, goodwill, and intangible assets. Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance (Master’s preferred). CPA required. 8–10+ years of progressive accounting experience, including: Public accounting required. Industry experience in a technical accounting or reporting role. Strong knowledge of U.S. GAAP and SEC reporting requirements (if applicable). Hands-on experience with M&A accounting and purchase accounting.
