£13.50 per hour About Us The Bridge Hotel is a traditional Lakeland hotel located in the heart of Buttermere in the Lake District. Surrounded by stunning fells and lakes, we pride ourselves on providing warm hospitality, high-quality food, and a welcoming atmosphere for both guests and staff.
The Role We are currently looking for a reliable and hardworking
Kitchen Porter
to join our kitchen team. This is a full-time position working
35 hours per week , supporting our chefs and helping ensure the kitchen operates efficiently and maintains high standards of cleanliness and organisation.
Due to the
rural location of the hotel , applicants
must hold a valid driving licence
and have reliable access to transport.
Key Responsibilities
Washing dishes, utensils, pots, and pans during service
Maintaining cleanliness and hygiene throughout the kitchen
Assisting chefs with basic food preparation when required
Ensuring kitchen equipment and work areas are kept clean and organised
Emptying bins and managing kitchen waste and recycling
Supporting the team during busy service periods
Helping with deliveries and storing stock correctly
Following all food hygiene and health & safety procedures
Requirements
Valid
UK driving licence
due to the rural location
Reliable, punctual, and able to work as part of a team
Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced kitchen environment
Good attention to cleanliness and hygiene standards
Positive attitude and willingness to help the wider team
Ability to follow instructions and kitchen procedures
Flexibility to work evenings, weekends, and holidays as required
Previous kitchen or hospitality experience is helpful but
not essential , as training will be provided
