Oliver Wyman- Vector- Market Intelligence Business Specialist

The Market Intelligence team develops and maintains the short and long‑term forecast outlooks for the global aircraft fleet as well as the annual MRO spend attributable to those aircraft. These forecasts and trends are used for a variety of client engagements as well as industry publications. The Market Intelligence Specialist will support the development of these forecasts and associated commentaries in addition to supporting clients and project teams. At times, this role will participate in client engagements directly. Ultimately, the Market Intelligence Specialist will become a subject matter expert in the aviation industry and will function as a key resource utilized across the entire Aviation, Aerospace & Defense Practice.

Key Responsibilities

Support the Market Intelligence team to achieve goals established in collaboration with the Director

Familiarity with commercial air transport industry data sources, issues and trends

Participate in client engagements including client, team and project management

Collect and summarize market insights about economies, airports, airlines, and policies

Analyze key drivers and trends of the commercial air transport industry, particularly the Maintenance, Repair, and Overhaul (MRO) business within it

Find and communicate interesting industry storylines in a cohesive, creative manner

Research historical data to map trends and determine how they will influence the industry

Undertake complex quantitative, qualitative, strategic and financial analysis through a variety of activities which include:

Primary and secondary research

Benchmarking

Model building

Analyzing client data

Evaluating improvement initiatives

Use established tools or create new ones to aid in analyzing large amounts of data and presenting findings in a structured, cohesive manner

Aid in developing and maintaining Oliver Wyman Vector's forecast models

Assist long‑term client engagements primarily revolving around market sizing, strategic planning, and merger and acquisition due diligence

Support the development of client deliverables

Develop internal and public facing presentations and publications for Oliver Wyman and Oliver Wyman Vector

Assist in the development of full articles and interview responses for commercial aviation magazines and journals from around the world

Attend industry events and conferences, sharing insights and representing the company to clients, industry partners and media

Work closely and productively within teams to achieve established goals established in collaboration with the Director

Education and Experience Required

Strong leadership skills

Bachelor's Degree required

Advanced experience with Microsoft Office Suite (Excel and PowerPoint in particular)

Experience with Microsoft SQL and Python

Python experience preferred

Forecasting experience

Data analytics experience

Project management experience

Airline or MRO experience preferred

Base pay will be determined based on experience, skills, training, location, certifications, and education, as well as applicable minimum wage requirements. In addition to the base salary, this position may be eligible for performance‑based incentives.
