Job Title: Development & Events Specialist (Contract)
The Humane Society for Boone County is seeking a contract Development & Events Specialist to help strengthen our fundraising efforts, grow donor support, and enhance event and sponsorship strategies.
This role is structured in phases:
Phase 1: Database & CRM Optimization Assess and improve donor data, reporting, and workflows.
Phase 2: Donor Growth Strategy Analyze donor trends and build a clear, actionable fundraising plan.
Phase 3: Event Development Design and support execution of a new, high-impact fundraising event.
Phase 4: Sponsorship Strategy Develop sponsorship packages, identify prospects, and support outreach.
Qualifications
Experience in nonprofit fundraising, development, or events
Strong strategic thinking with ability to execute
CRM experience (Bloomerang a plus)
Excellent communication and organizational skills
Positive, solution-focused mindset with a “can-do” attitude
Adaptable, flexible, and comfortable working in a dynamic environment
Self-motivated with the ability to take initiative and follow through

Total Estimated Hours: 290 – 405 hours
Hybrid position
