
Growth & Marketing Intern – Early-Stage Car-Sharing Startup

At Keyed, We’re building the next-generation peer-to-peer car-sharing platform (think Turo meets Airbnb for cars). Our mission is to make car sharing accessible, seamless, and trustworthy for users everywhere. As an early-stage startup, you’ll be working directly with the founder to help validate our concept, acquire our first users, and drive growth from 0→100+ users.
This is
not a typical internship
— you will own real outcomes and have direct impact on the business.
Role Description We’re seeking
ambitious, proactive, and creative interns
with a strong interest in marketing, growth, and startups. The ideal candidate is comfortable reaching out to people, testing ideas in the real world, and iterating based on results.
Required Skills & Experience
Passion for startups, marketing, and growth experimentation
Comfortable conducting outreach to potential users (via DMs, email, phone, or networking)
Basic understanding of social media platforms (Instagram, LinkedIn, TikTok, etc.)
Excellent communication skills — written and verbal
Self-starter mindset — able to work independently and take ownership
Familiarity with Google Workspace (Docs, Sheets, Drive, Gmail, Calendar) or willingness to learn quickly
Experience with simple data tracking, spreadsheets, or basic reporting is a plus
Optional but valuable skills
Familiarity with Canva, basic content creation, or graphic design
Experience with growth hacking or early-stage marketing campaigns
Knowledge of referral programs, community building, or local marketing
Responsibilities 1. Early User Discovery & Validation
Use personal networks (friends, family, local communities) and online outreach to identify
early adopters
(car owners and renters)
Conduct informal interviews or surveys to gather
user pain points and feedback
Document insights in shared Google Sheets / Notion databases
Refine outreach strategies based on feedback
Send targeted messages to potential users via email, social media, and other channels
Track responses, engagement, and conversions in shared Google Sheets
Support onboarding early users onto the platform
Assist in designing and testing small-scale growth experiments (referral programs, social media campaigns, landing page optimizations)
Measure impact of each experiment and report results to the founder
Suggest creative ideas to improve user acquisition and retention
4. Marketing Support
Create or assist with basic marketing assets using Canva or Google Slides
Help schedule posts, track campaigns, and report results
Support social media engagement and content creation as needed
Use Google Workspace (Docs, Sheets, Drive, Gmail, Calendar) and Slack for daily communication and documentation
Provide
daily updates
on outreach and tasks
Prepare
weekly reports
summarizing user acquisition, insights, and recommendations
