Title- Associate Sportswear Designer- Junior Contemporary – Cut Sew Knits, and Wovens
Location: New York, NY-
Salary $65,000- +
Our client, a well-established Junior Contemporary Brand is searching for an AssociateDesigner or Assistant designer for immediate hire. Must have a young aesthetic designing woven’s, and knitwear. Assist with developing new product line assortments by collaborating with the cross-functional team. Strong CAD and tech pack experience. There is tremendous opportunity to grow into a design position.
Responsibilities
Support the placement strategy and follow-up by recommending product placement
Participate in design strategies and execution for sportswear including knits, and wovens
Create detailed tech packs in illustrator
Work with the design team and management to develop time and action calendars for programs
Work with team sourcing new fabrications for development
Prepare trend boards for management meetings
Manage product integrity and order specifications compliance.
Qualifications
2 plus years of experience in apparel production and development
Knowledge and understanding of knit and wovens fabrics
Proficiency in Illustrator and Photoshop
PLM system is a plus
Problem-solving abilities in meeting deadlines.
