
Technical Designer

Our client, a premium denim and contemporary lifestyle brand, is seeking a Technical Designer to focus on cut & sew knits. This role will support development from initial proto through to production, ensuring fit, quality, and construction standards are executed at a high level. The ideal candidate has strong knit experience, with exposure to sweaters and/or soft wovens, and brings a sharp eye for detail and fit.
Responsibilities
Own technical design for cut & sew knit categories from proto through TOP, ensuring consistency in fit, construction, and quality
Create and maintain detailed tech packs including specs, construction details, and fit comments
Lead fittings by measuring garments, evaluating fit, and communicating clear, actionable feedback to vendors
Collaborate closely with Design and Product Development to execute design intent while maintaining production feasibility
Review samples for construction, workmanship, and accuracy prior to fittings
Track and manage all fit samples, approvals, and changes throughout the development lifecycle
Communicate daily with overseas vendors to ensure clarity on fit, construction, and timeline adherence
Partner with cross-functional teams to troubleshoot fit or construction issues and propose solutions
Maintain grading and spec standards across styles
Qualifications
4+ years of experience in Technical Design, with a focus on knits (cut & sew preferred)
Exposure to sweaters and/or soft wovens strongly preferred
Strong understanding of garment construction, fit, and grading
Patternmaking experience is a plus
Highly detail-oriented with strong organizational and communication skills
Ability to manage multiple styles and deadlines in a fast-paced environment
Proficient in Adobe Illustrator and PLM systems
Based in Los Angeles and able to work onsite 5 days
