Description

Position summary: Hang live birds in a moving shackle on a conveyor belt about waist level.

Essential Functions: Duties and responsibilities include but are not limited to:

• Pick up birds according to animal welfare guidelines and place in a moving shackle.
• Rotate along different positions on the live hang production line.
• After training, must be able to hang 25 birds per minute.
• Cross trained to operate the cage dumper.
• Comply with all plant policies.
• Identify and report suspicious or abnormal situations to immediate supervisor or plant management.
• Other duties as assigned.

Minimum Qualifications:

• Ability to lift and hang live birds weighing 7.0-11.00 for 100% of the workday.
• Standing/walking 100% of the workday.
• Must be able to perform repetitive motion.
• Must be able to work in a hot and dusty environment.

Preferred Qualifications:

• 2 years live hanger experience.
• High school graduate.
