Our client, a leader in educational and governmental services, is seeking a dedicated Digital Documents Accessibility Subject Matter Expert (SME) to join their team. As a Digital Documents Accessibility SME, you will be part of the Accessibility Support Department supporting digital accessibility initiatives across various educational institutions. The ideal candidate will demonstrate strong analytical skills, proactive communication, and a passion for promoting equitable access to digital content, which will align successfully in the organization.
Job Title Digital Documents Accessibility Subject Matter Expert (SME)
Location Remote, with a preference for candidates located anywhere in California
What's the Job?
Provide expert guidance on digital document accessibility compliance with federal and state regulations such as WCAG, Section 508, and ADA.
Conduct accessibility testing and remediation of digital documents to ensure they meet established standards.
Assist in the development and evaluation of Accessibility Capability Maturity Model (ACMM) reports and baseline assessments.
Facilitate webinars and virtual workshops to promote best practices in digital accessibility.
Offer strategic recommendations to improve accessibility maturity across educational institutions and related entities.
What's Needed?
Experience in coordinating complex accessibility projects involving digital documents and content.
Deep knowledge of federal, state, and local accessibility laws, including WCAG 2.1, Section 508, and ADA.
Ability to analyze, review, and validate accessibility documentation and processes.
Strong communication skills with the ability to work independently and collaboratively.
Familiarity with capability maturity models and evidence requirements for accessibility assessments.
