Instructional Designerin GAC Savannah
Position Purpose The Instructional Designer is responsible for assisting in the creation and maintenance of formal learning programs, processes, services and technologies to support the enterprise learning strategy and assist in maximizing the effectiveness of a variety of learning methods and internal collaboration tools.
Education and Experience Requirements Bachelor's Degree in related field required or equivalent combination of education and experience sufficient to successfully perform the essential functions of the job. 2 years of progressive responsibility related to Human Resources.
Key Qualifications
Instructional Design Expertise: Demonstrated ability to apply adult learning principles and instructional design methodologies (ADDIE, SAM) to create effective learner‑centric solutions.
eLearning Development: Hands‑on experience designing and developing interactive digital learning using Articulate Studio. Ability to convert complex content into engaging, easy‑to‑understand learning modules.
Multimedia & Visual Design: Proficiency in Adobe InDesign to create visually compelling facilitator guides, job aids, participant workbooks, and other instructional materials that align with brand and accessibility standards.
Video & Animation Creation: Working knowledge of Vyond to build short‑form instructional videos and scenario‑based content that enhances learner engagement.
Content Structuring & Storyboarding: Strong capability to translate subject matter expertise into clear storyboards, scripts, and design documents.
Assessment & Evaluation: Ability to design assessments aligned to learning objectives and use learner feedback and performance data to refine instructional materials.
Collaboration & Communication: Skilled at partnering with SMEs, project managers, and cross‑functional stakeholders to gather requirements, iterate on solutions, and ensure project alignment.
Technical Aptitude: Comfortable learning new tools quickly and working within LMS or LXP environments to support course publishing, testing, and maintenance.
Key Responsibilities
Support the instructional design process across assigned programs; take ownership of assigned projects, document instructional design agreements/project plans, and drive quality and timely completion of milestones.
Work with senior instructional designer to design, develop, and implement innovative, robust interactive formal and informal learning interventions including learning games, computer-based training, instructor‑led training, on‑the‑job training, and blended learning solutions. Assist with the integration of instructional technology into learning resources.
Work with design team, senior instructional designer and content owners (Quality, Safety, Engineering, etc.), to foster the development of compelling content; moderate interactions within the design team and work with the appropriate internal resources to meet business objectives.
Manage and work on multiple, medium scale, complex learning interventions concurrently with limited supervision; lead and/or support a collaborative design and development process. Create documentation to support formal course code development.
Support marketing and communication for assigned instructional design projects; communicate regularly with program stakeholders, senior instructional designer, HR systems support, and others as required.
Work with senior instructional designer, technology/systems support team, and Training Compliance Auditors to link reporting to training and analyze data to suggest improvements for learning content, methods and target audience.
Perform other duties as assigned. This job requires one to be able to read, write, speak, and understand the English language.
