Junior Valuation Analyst – Boston, MA (On‑Site)
Compensation:
$85,000–$95,000 base salary + ~12% bonus + ~10% profit sharing
We are seeking a Junior Valuation Analyst with exposure to pricing complex fixed income instruments, particularly within global securitized markets. The ideal candidate will have familiarity with products such as subprime RMBS, agency and non-agency CMBS, asset‑backed securities (ABS), and structured bonds, along with some understanding of derivative pricing.
Key Responsibilities
Review and validate pricing data used in securitized benchmarks and other fixed income products on a recurring basis (daily, weekly, monthly)
Compare internally generated valuations with external vendor data to ensure consistency and accuracy
Investigate and resolve pricing variances through quantitative analysis, modeling techniques, and collaboration with third‑party providers
Partner with senior team members to refine and improve valuation methodologies
Perform tolerance checks and validation testing on pricing outputs
Support month‑end processes, including documentation for reporting and regulatory review
Qualifications
Master’s degree in Finance, Mathematics, or a related quantitative discipline
Up to 2 years of relevant experience in fixed income valuation or a similar analytical role
Working knowledge of fixed income instruments, including corporate bonds, RMBS, CMBS, ABS, and basic derivative products
Understanding of mortgage structures, interest rate curves, and credit spreads
Familiarity with industry data platforms such as Bloomberg, Markit, ICE, Intex, or Pricing Direct
Strong Excel skills; experience with VBA, SQL, or Python is advantageous
Ability to manage competing priorities and meet tight deadlines with a high level of accuracy
Strong written and verbal communication skillsProgress toward or completion of the CFA designation is a plus
