Farmers Coop Society is seeking a motivated and people-focused Human Resources Specialist to join our team. This entry-level role is a great opportunity for someone looking to start a career in HR while making a direct impact in a cooperative that supports local farmers and rural communities.

In this role, you’ll support day-to-day HR operations across a diverse workforce—including agronomy, feed, grain, and energy divisions. You’ll gain hands‑on experience in recruiting, onboarding, employee support, and HR compliance while building strong relationships across the organization.

Essential Job Functions

Administer and coordinate HR operations, including recruitment, onboarding, assisting with benefit administration, payroll, and employee records.

Assist with posting jobs, reviewing applications, and scheduling interviews.

Travel to locations to interview candidates and meet with location manager on hiring needs.

Attend local career fairs, college recruiting events, and community outreach efforts.

Support employee relations by addressing inquiries, resolving conflicts, and promoting a positive workplace culture.

Support employee engagement and recognition initiatives.

Maintain compliance with labor laws, company policies, and employment regulations.

Assist in performance management processes, including evaluations and improvement plans.

Assess organizational training needs through surveys, performance data, and consultations with managers.

Design, deliver, and evaluate corporate training programs—both in‑person and online—on topics such as leadership, communication, compliance, and professional skills.

Partner with department heads to develop role‑specific training materials and career development paths.

Manage Learning Management System (LMS) content and employee participation records.

Assist with maintaining required training records (including safety training).

Track and report on training outcomes, ROI, and employee development metrics.

Help with special projects and continuous improvement initiatives.ll

Stay current with learning trends, adult education methodologies, and HR best practices.

Strong understanding of HR principles, employment law, and compliance.

Expertise in adult learning theory and instructional design.

Excellent interpersonal, presentation, and communication skills.

Ability to learn different company software such as ADP and Asmark.

Strong organizational and project management skills.

Ability to collaborate cross‑functionally and adapt to changing business needs.

Qualifications

Education: Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Ag Business, Education, or a related field preferred.

Strong interpersonal and communication skills.

Ability to handle confidential information with discretion.

Highly organized with attention to detail.

Willingness to learn and take initiative.
