The Landscape Designer / Sales Professional serves as the primary contact for design/build clients, guiding projects from initial consultation through final installation. This role blends creative design expertise with strong sales ability, project coordination, and relationship management.

The ideal candidate is both a skilled designer and confident sales professional who can develop conceptual plans, present proposals, close projects, and collaborate closely with operations to ensure successful execution. This position plays a critical role in driving revenue growth while delivering an exceptional client experience.

Key Responsibilities

Generate and qualify leads to build and maintain a strong sales pipeline

Cultivate relationships with homeowners and commercial clients to drive new business

Conduct on-site consultations to assess client needs, site conditions, and project feasibility

Develop and present compelling design concepts and sales proposals

Close projects and manage client expectations throughout the sales and installation process

Identify and sell enhancement opportunities to improve project scope and client outcomes

Accurately track and report sales activities and pipeline progress

Create conceptual landscape designs, layout plans, and supporting documentation

Prepare detailed proposals and cost estimates

Collaborate with suppliers and subcontractors to obtain accurate pricing

Ensure design intent aligns with budget parameters and client expectations

Project Coordination

Coordinate with operations, production teams, subcontractors, and vendors to ensure smooth project execution

Conduct site visits during installation to verify quality, progress, and adherence to design

Address client questions or concerns promptly and professionally

Ensure projects meet established standards for craftsmanship, scheduling, and profitability

Work closely with internal teams to align sales commitments with operational capabilities

Support company initiatives that enhance service delivery and growth

Contribute to a positive, solutions-oriented team culture

Qualifications

Minimum of 3 years of experience in landscape design within a design/build environment

Strong understanding of residential and/or commercial landscape construction practices

Bachelor’s degree in Landscape Design, Landscape Architecture, Horticulture, or related field preferred

Proven ability to meet or exceed sales goals

Exceptional interpersonal and relationship-building skills

Strong written and verbal communication skills

Highly organized with strong time management and problem-solving abilities

Ability to work independently while maintaining strong collaboration with internal teams

Proficiency with Microsoft Office, AutoCAD (or similar design software), and CRM systems

Valid driver’s license with satisfactory driving record
