Overview This position is located at the Ralph H. Johnson VA Medical Center, Charleston, SC, in the Mental Health Service Line. The incumbent is responsible for the administrative and financial management within the Mental Health service line and supports the Administrative Officer by operationalizing the healthcare plans for this service line.
Duties
Provides administration for the Mental Health Service Line which includes Community Based Outpatient Clinics (CBOC) program with varied functions and activities with new and changing requirements.
Assists with budgeting and financial management within the service line budget formulation, justification, and execution; financial management; and financial reporting as it relates to patient care.
Manages the service line SharePoint.
Interprets administrative policies, develops, and implements local policies, defines administrative requirements, and/or provides advice to top management on related issues.
Develops and updates functional statements and position descriptions as necessary.
Reviews and assigns patient advocate requests received and ensures timely submission using the Patient Advocate Tracking System (PATS).
Serves as the TMS administrator for the service line and works closely with staff as it relates to required trainings.
Supports clinic/program operations through participation in facility committees such as Revenue Enhancement and Veteran Experience Committee.
Performs other duties as assigned.

Time‑In‑Grade Requirement: Applicants who are current Federal employees and have held a GS grade any time in the past 52 weeks must also meet time‑in‑grade requirements by the closing date of this announcement. For a GS‑09 position you must have served 52 weeks at the GS‑07. The grade may have been in any occupation but must have been held in the Federal service. An SF‑50 that shows your time‑in‑grade eligibility must be submitted with your application materials. If the most recent SF‑50 has an effective date within the past year, it may not clearly demonstrate you possess one‑year time‑in‑grade, as required by the announcement. There is no educational substitution at this grade level. Preferred experience: Provides information and analytical support to Ralph H. Johnson, mainly will assist with data analysis at the facility and generating reports. Maintenance and support of software applications as well.
