Growth Product Manager

Light Labs, Austin, TX, United States

Light Labs is building the modern platform for lab testing, starting with consumer goods brands. We help companies test more cheaply, quickly, and enable them to use lab results to automate regulatory compliance and grow revenue. Most supplement and food brands want to be transparent about what's in their products, but testing is expensive and the data lives in PDFs that are impossible to share with customers. We're fixing that. Improving our food system starts with increasing transparency and creating a more informed customer. Not only are we building a lab that makes testing faster, cheaper, and easier, but also the infrastructure that allows brands to: Market and highlight their lab results by making it easy to push lab data directly to product display pages. Here, brands will highlight what’s in their product (active ingredients + they meet their claims) and what’s not in their product (heavy metals, environmental toxins, PFAs, etc) Automatically comply with regulations like Prop 65, CA AB 899, Amazon testing requirements, etc. By integrating the full experience – from testing to the data sharing with customers – we’re building a more efficient and streamlined process. Brands can now differentiate themselves and become the no-brainer choice in their category through testing and great transparency. Role Overview

Light Labs is hiring a Growth Product Manager to scale the Product Insight Panel (PIP) and turn it into a portfolio of transparency products that drive adoption, virality, and trust across the food system. Light Labs is used by leading consumer brands like Momentous and David Protein, along with some of the largest manufacturers in the US. While our core platform helps these customers run quality workflows at scale, our transparency products—like the PIP—are how that quality is communicated to the world. As our Growth Product Manager, you will own the expansion of the PIP from a single product into a comprehensive suite of consumer-facing and brand-facing tools. You will focus deeply on user behavior, optimizing funnels, and engineering viral loops that make Light Labs the default standard for third-party testing. Your mandate is to ensure that every time a consumer sees a Light Labs PIP, it reinforces Light Labs as the ultimate trusted brand, driving more consumers to demand it and more brands to adopt it. This is a hands-on role for a product builder who understands product-led growth, obsesses over metrics, and wants real ownership over software that sits at the intersection of B2B utility and B2C brand trust. Location: Austin, TX (in-office, 5 days a week). Responsibilities

Expand the Product Insight Panel into a Product Portfolio : You will evolve the Product Insight Panel from a static embed into a dynamic portfolio of transparency products. This includes building new surfaces for brands to showcase their data, interactive consumer experiences, and embeddable widgets that make sharing lab results seamless across any digital storefront. Engineer Virality and Distribution : You will design and implement product-led growth loops. By understanding the inherent network effects of our platform (consumers see the PIP → demand transparency → more brands adopt Light Labs), you will build mechanics that accelerate organic distribution and make our transparency tools highly shareable. Own User Behavior and Funnel Metrics : You will instrument, measure, and optimize the entire user journey. From the moment a brand discovers the PIP to the moment a consumer interacts with it, you will use data to understand behavior, remove friction, and drive activation, retention, and engagement. Establish Light Labs as the Trusted Standard : You will ensure that our product design and user experience consistently reinforce White Light Labs as the definitive, trusted third-party testing brand. You will build features that educate consumers, build credibility, and make theLight Labs badge a coveted asset for any consumer brand. Drive Cross-Functional Growth Initiatives : You will execute high-velocity experiments. You will set the growth roadmap, run A/B tests, and make hard trade-offs to ensure we are always shipping features that move the needle on our core growth metrics. Requirements

Must-have

3+ years of product management experience, with a strong focus on growth, product-led growth (PLG), or consumer-facing B2B products. Deep analytical rigor: you are highly comfortable with data, funnel analysis, A/B testing, and using metrics to drive product decisions. Experience engineering virality: you understand how to build referral mechanics, network effects, and organic distribution loops into software products. High-ownership, high-velocity operator: you can take ambiguous problems, form a hypothesis, and turn them into shipped outcomes quickly. Strong product craft: you care deeply about UX details, consumer psychology, and building trust through design. Excellent communicator: clear writing, crisp thinking, and the ability to align cross-functional teams around growth goals. Nice-to-have

Experience building marketplaces, two-sided networks, or products that bridge B2B and B2C users. Background in performance marketing, growth engineering, or data science. Strong design instincts (bonus if you’re comfortable mocking in Figma). We believe that how we work is just as important as what we achieve. Light Labs’ culture is built on principles that drive high performance: First Principles. We’re looking for team members who can deal with ambiguity, deconstruct problems, and build the optimal solution. Question every requirement → Delete any part or process you can → Simplify and optimize → Accelerate cycle time → Automate. Standard of Excellence: High standards are contagious. A+ talent attracts A+ talent. There’s a glut of mediocrity in the world. We’re chasing after the products and people that strive for excellence. Bias for Action: Take initiative, make decisions quickly, and have a willingness to experiment and learn from failures. Customer expectations are not static. They rise over time, which means we have to continuously improve every single day Low Ego: Coachability; it’s not about being right, it’s about getting to the right answer. Reacts calmly to criticism or negative feedback, and has a “feedback is an opportunity for information and improvement” mindset. Respectfully challenges decisions when you disagree, even when doing so is uncomfortable. Once a decision is made, even if you still disagree, commit wholly and move forward.
