Business Development Specialist – Job Description Utilize modern tools and strategies to continuously develop your assigned territory, focusing on new accounts and business opportunities across all HECO services and products
Build targeted accounts into long-term, recurring customers through consistent on-site engagement
Establish strong relationships with purchasing, maintenance, management, reliability, and engineering teams
Identify and develop opportunities related to repair services, product sales, equipment management, and predictive maintenance
Oversee and ensure effective communication between HECO personnel and customers throughout the quoting and estimating process, ensuring timely follow-up and clear expectations
Conduct on-site evaluations of failed or problematic motors, including documentation, measurements, and data collection for engineering and customer service teams
Identify root causes of equipment failures and introduce additional HECO service solutions where applicable
Collaborate with customer service teams on pricing and lead times; address competitive gaps and position HECO as the preferred solution provider
Maintain a strong understanding of all customer projects (current and upcoming) to identify new opportunities
Track customer budgets and spending across HECO offerings and forecast future business opportunities
Present proposals and effectively manage the full sales cycle, including follow-up and project execution
Attend all weekly sales meetings and planning sessions, contributing to strategy, training, and business development efforts
Meet and exceed annual sales goals
Support marketing initiatives by contributing content for blogs or other materials
Expectations Perform all responsibilities in alignment with HECO's core values
Represent HECO professionally in all customer interactions, including meetings, presentations, and site visits
Maintain appropriate professional attire during customer visits
Be available for occasional evenings, weekends, or holidays as business needs require
Participate in on-call rotations and remain accessible during assigned times
Assist with accounts receivable efforts when necessary to resolve outstanding invoices
Coordinate all job, order status, pickup, and delivery communication through designated customer service contacts
Maintain accurate and up-to-date records, including CRM entries and expense reports
Coordinate customer shop visits with appropriate management personnel
Keep CRM data current with weekly schedules, activities, and customer interactions
Provide support to management on additional projects where your expertise adds value

Pay & Perks Base salary depends on experience
3% commission on invoiced repair, field service, or predictive sales
1% commission on invoiced product sales
