Overview The Marketing Coordinator supports Citywide marketing and communications initiatives by coordinating social media, print, and digital campaigns. This position works with U.S., Mexico, and international marketing agencies to manage project timelines, deliverables, and approval workflows, and serves as a liaison between internal stakeholders and external vendors to ensure timely and accurate execution of marketing efforts. The intent of this job description is to provide a representative summary of the major duties and responsibilities performed by employees in this job. Responsibilities Content Execution & Editorial Support: drafts and edits light content for digital channels including newsletters, social media captions, media briefs, and internal marketing reports. Assist with uploading and tagging content to digital platforms and review messaging for cultural relevance, grammar, and brand consistency. Media Performance & Return on Investment tracking: collect and compile campaign performance data from agencies. Identify key metrics (e.g., impressions, clicks, engagement), support internal reporting, and flag areas for improvement or optimization based on analytics. Collaborate with departments including Economic Development, Airport, Bridge, and Convention & Visitors Bureau (CVB) to align marketing messaging and promotional materials. Attend interdepartmental meetings and ensure consistent branding across divisions. Collaborate with creative teams to review and develop deliverables, including design mockups, brochures, social media graphics, and promotional videos. Provide timely feedback to agencies and support the Director in ensuring messaging aligns with Port Laredo’s international brand vision. Occasionally assist with light edits using tools like Canva or Adobe Express. Provide public relations and stakeholder support by assisting in the preparation and coordination of media announcements, press releases, and stakeholder outreach in collaboration with communications consultants and department leadership. Support the execution of marketing events such as trade shows, press conferences, and community engagements. Assist in material preparation, logistics coordination, and on-site representation when needed. Drive a City vehicle for City business use as required. Perform related work as assigned. At least two (2) years of Marketing experience. Experience in Communication is preferred. Required Licenses or Certifications Valid Texas Driver License. If applicant holds an out-of-state license, a State of Texas Driver License must be obtained within 6 months of employment. As part of the minimum requirements for all positions with the City of Laredo, a thorough background check and certified school transcripts will be required from all applicants who are offered employment.
