Communications Coordinator

Role Description We are seeking a creative and detail-oriented Communications Coordinator to join our team and elevate the Kokomo Rescue Mission’s messaging across digital and print platforms. In this role, you will help shape and share our story through compelling written content, engaging social media, and visually appealing graphics that reflect the heart of our mission. This is an in-office position. The Communications Coordinator will manage and grow our social media presence, create and schedule content, design graphics for campaigns and events, and ensure consistent, high-quality communication across all channels. You will also assist with media relations, storytelling, and brand consistency, helping us connect meaningfully with donors, volunteers, and the broader community. This role requires a proactive, organized individual with strong writing and design skills, an eye for detail, and the ability to translate complex or sensitive topics into clear, engaging content. Your work will play a key role in strengthening relationships, increasing engagement, and advancing the mission of the Kokomo Rescue Mission. Qualifications Education : A Bachelor’s degree in Communications, Public Relations, Marketing, or a related field preferred Experience : Experience in graphic design, preferably using Adobe products (InDesign, Illustrator, Photoshop, Premiere, etc.). Skills : Strong written and verbal communication, proficiency in social media platforms, familiarity with Content Management Systems (CMS) like WordPress, and knowledge of basic design tools (Adobe products).
