
Business Development Executive

OVERVIEW
We are seeking a Business Development Executive to grow retained search engagements for lateral partner and in-house counsel hires, with leading law firms across the country. The role has the potential to develop into a recruiting position.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
• Build relationships with partners, practice leaders, firm administrators, and corporate legal departments
• Identify, develop, and close retained search opportunities
• Lead sales conversations through needs assessment, proposal, and engagement launch
• Position retained search as a strategically superior alternative to contingency recruiting
• Partner with recruiting teams to ensure smooth handoff and client satisfaction
IDEAL CANDIDATE
• 4–8+ years of experience in business development or consultative sales
• Experience selling to law firms and/or corporate legal departments
• Proven success selling relationship-based professional services
• Comfortable managing longer sales cycles and multiple stakeholders
PREFERRED BACKGROUND
• Legal recruiting or legal services sales
• Executive search, staffing, or legal tech sales
• Professional services or advisory sales to law firms
