Schedule:

20-40 hours per week depending on candidate's preference; see below for options

Salary Amount or Range:

$43–$47/hour D.O.E. + Standard benefits (paid vacation, sick days, holidays) + health stipend

Children:

5 and 7 year old girls

Pets:

1 adult Maltese Terrier, 1 8-month-old Golden Retriever‑Husky mix

Description A loving family in San Jose is seeking a warm, reliable nanny to care for their two girls, ages 5 and 7 years old. Responsibilities include managing the after-school routine, preparing dinner and lunches for the kids, light laundry, plan activities and engage in play, bedtime routine, tidying, and light pet care. The best person for them is someone warm, reliable, and experienced with toddler to elementary age children.

Schedule (depending on candidate preference) :

Option 1: Monday to Friday 4/5 p.m. to 9 p.m. (20-25 hours per week)

Option 2: Split-shift Monday to Friday 6 a.m. to 9/10 a.m. + 4/5 p.m. to 9 p.m. (35-40 hours per week)

Experience Requirements

2 years minimum experience working as a nanny with excellent verifiable references

Educational Requirements

Fluency in English

Qualifications

TB and Tdap vaccine

CPR Certified

Valid driver with clean record (family will provide household vehicle for work‑related driving)

Warm

ReliableExperienced nanny

Child development - familiar with toddler to elementary age

Comfortable with allergy‑friendly cooking (dairy, eggs)

Pet friendly; loves dogs

Can make at least a year commitment

Responsibilities

Manage after school routines

Dinner prep for the kids

Packing kids' lunches for the next day

Light laundry

Plan activities and playtime (board games, drawing, etc.)

Maintain structure and plan kids' schedules

Bedtime routine around 7pm (bath/shower, pajamas, reading, homework, etc.)

Let the dogs out

Light cleaning (kids' bedrooms and where the kids play)

If working mornings: prepare kids' breakfast and help them get ready for school, feed the dogs, take one of the dogs on a walk
