Description The Architectural Designer provides services to customers, including site/inventory verifications, programming, space planning, develops budgets, selects finishes, working/installation drawings, specifications and site-to-plan review. Works closely with sales, order entry and installation groups, as well as customers, A&D and general contractors, to ensure accurate plans and specifications, to achieve customer satisfaction and high-quality project implementation.

Essential Duties And Responsibilities

Attend client planning meetings and present plans and information to customers for review and approvals.

Set client expectations and deadlines for project process and ordering.

Has the ability to live design with client with or without an Account Executive.

Manage clients on their own with check-in points from Account Executive.

Develop project budgets.

Manage “hold to” dimensions with contractors.

Work with onsite trades to deliver successful projects.

Review site and conduct field measurements.

Inventory existing product; produce as-built drawings/specifications.

Clarify scope and expectation by conducting programming analysis, interviewing customer/end users, researching workplace requirements, and analyzing architectural wall needs.

Develop and present space plans and gain customer approvals.

Develop working drawings for specification and installation.

Develop product specifications, double-check specifications against plans, and prepare specifications for order-entry using electronic specification program.

Conduct field and punch-list review with installation group.

Understand projects financial information and profitability.

Have strong knowledge of interior design field and current practices.

Understand workplace environment issues including technology integration, construction, and construction schedules.

Have working knowledge of key manufacturers, including features/benefits, pricing, application, and specification options.

Have working knowledge of applicable building codes, ADA regulations, National Electrical Code, etc.

Coordinate contract furniture processes, including order preparation, project management, order management and delivery/installation.

Requirements Qualifications and Skills

Associates or Bachelor’s Degree in related industry is required.

1-2 + years of experience in contract furniture design and/or architectural wall products or architectural drafting highly preferred.

Experience working in AutoCAD, CET/Configura, Microsoft 365, Excel is highly preferred.

Must have excellent time management skills.

Possess organizational and prioritization skills.

Must have a high-level attention to detail.

Self-driven, proactive, and willing to take initiative.

Ability to creatively problem-solve as a team.

Other Job Requirements

Must be able to pass a criminal background check.

Must be able to lift 10 lbs.

This position is eligible for hybrid work.
