3/30/2026 St. Paul UMC in Grant Park Atlanta is seeking a full-time director of Children and Youth Ministries. The Children & Youth Minister provides vision, leadership, and spiritual guidance for children, youth, and their families, fostering Christian discipleship and meaningful connection within the life of the church. This role is responsible for developing and leading age‑appropriate faith formation, coordinating volunteers, and creating inclusive, engaging ministry experiences throughout the year, including during school breaks. Position Details Start Date May 1, 2026 Full‑time, $35,000 - $45,000 annual salary range (no benefits) 40 hours/week Reports to Pastor Duties and Responsibilities
Children’s Ministry
Develop and implement a comprehensive vision for children’s ministry grounded in Christian discipleship Lead and oversee weekly Children’s Sunday School, including curriculum planning and volunteer coordination Lead and oversee Kid’s Church during the 11:00 a.m. worship service Recruit, train, schedule, and support volunteers for children’s programming, including Children’s Moments in worship Plan, coordinate, and lead annual Vacation Bible School Plan and oversee special children’s events such as the Christmas Play, Easter Egg Hunt, back‑to‑school celebration, and community outreach events Develop and lead faith‑formation opportunities for children during school breaks, including summer, winter, and spring programs Build relationships with children and families and support faith formation within the home Youth Ministry
Lead and oversee the United Methodist Youth Fellowship (UMYF) and other youth discipleship opportunities Develop and implement youth Sunday School and small‑group programming Plan, coordinate, and lead yearly Confirmation programming Provide discipleship, mentoring, and pastoral care for youth Plan and oversee youth programming during school breaks, including retreats, mission experiences, service projects, and special events Plan and coordinate youth events such as retreats, graduation recognition, and community engagement opportunities Recruit, train, and support adult volunteers and mentors Provide visioning, planning, and evaluation for children’s and youth ministries Collaborate with pastoral staff, church leadership, and ministry teams to align programming with the mission of the church Manage ministry calendars and communicate regularly with families and volunteers Ensure compliance with Safe Sanctuaries and child protection policies Participate in staff meetings and church planning as appropriate Other duties as assigned. Qualifications
A growing and active Christian faith with a love for Jesus and the church Experience in children’s and/or youth ministry Strong leadership, organizational, and volunteer management skills Effective communicator with children, youth, families, and volunteers Ability to plan and lead age‑appropriate discipleship programming Knowledge of the United Methodist Church and theology preferred Must pass a background check Interested Candidates can send a resume and cover letter to Rev.
