We are seeking a motivated
Tool Designer
to support aerospace manufacturing operations by developing and improving precision tooling solutions. This role plays a critical part in enabling the production of complex engine components by ensuring tooling designs meet stringent engineering, quality, and operational requirements.
You’ll work closely with cross‑functional teams including Manufacturing Engineering, Operations, and Quality to bring tooling concepts from design through implementation on the shop floor.

About the Role We are seeking a motivated
Tool Designer
to support aerospace manufacturing operations by developing and improving precision tooling solutions. This role plays a critical part in enabling the production of complex engine components by ensuring tooling designs meet stringent engineering, quality, and operational requirements.
You’ll work closely with cross‑functional teams including Manufacturing Engineering, Operations, and Quality to bring tooling concepts from design through implementation on the shop floor.
Key Responsibilities
Design and develop tooling solutions to support aerospace manufacturing and assembly processes
Interpret engineering drawings, specifications, and manufacturing plans to determine tooling requirements
Create detailed tooling designs, layouts, and supporting documentation
Collaborate with Manufacturing Engineers and shop floor teams to troubleshoot and resolve tooling‑related issues
Support tool validation, tryouts, and implementation to ensure readiness for production
Prepare cost estimates and coordinate with vendors for fabrication, sourcing, and lead times
Utilize systems such as SAP (or similar) to manage tooling records, updates, and tracking
Drive continuous improvement initiatives focused on tooling performance, quality, and efficiency
Ensure compliance with aerospace standards, safety requirements, and internal processes
Required Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, or related technical field (or equivalent experience)
1–3 years of tooling design or manufacturing support experience (co‑op/internship experience considered)
Foundational knowledge of
GD&T , engineering drawings, and manufacturing processes
Familiarity with CAD tools (NX, CATIA, SolidWorks, or similar)
Strong analytical and problem‑solving skills with high attention to detail
Effective communication skills and ability to collaborate in a fast‑paced, cross‑functional environment
Preferred Qualifications
Experience supporting aerospace or high‑precision manufacturing environments
Exposure to engine assembly, machining, or tooling for complex components
Familiarity with ERP systems (SAP) and tooling lifecycle management
Understanding of lean manufacturing principles
