Overview We are seeking a personable, flexible, and multi-talented individual to join our team as an Assistant Golf Professional or Golf Shop Assistant at Shawnee Golf & Country Club. The role involves wearing many hats throughout the week, ensuring both members and the general public have an exceptional experience at our semi-private club. The club strives to provide a family-friendly atmosphere, affordable championship golf, outstanding service, and world-class amenities.

Experience Required

PGA Registered Associate or desire to become a PGA Associate is preferred.

Knowledge of Rules of Golf, Tournament Organization, and Player Development preferred.

Retail experience, including selling, stock control, and visual merchandising.

IT literate with experience in Microsoft Office and computerized POS and tee time systems.

Essential Responsibilities Operations

Manage daily opening and closing procedures, including till reconciliation and site security.

Collect fees and process payments for shop purchases and green fees.

Assist in organizing and running tournaments and events, ensuring they align with club policies.

Ensure customers have a great experience by organizing and controlling play.

Perform basic club repairs and custom fittings to maximize customer satisfaction.

Manage practice facilities and equipment rentals.

Facilitate various playing opportunities for members and guests.

Teaching

Promote junior golf and deliver school/junior development courses.

Retailing

Oversee daily golf shop operations, maintaining a clean, orderly, and professionally presented shop.

Offer specialist advice using product knowledge to recommend products and services.

Achieve sales targets and provide excellent customer service.

Update sales displays, organize promotions, and assist with stock control and ordering.

Interpersonal Skills

Act as an on-site supervisor in the absence of the Head Professional.

Prepare daily play schedules and allocate duties for golf shop staff when supervising.

Promote positive customer relations and support other staff as needed.

Provide orientation and training for new staff.

Maintain effective relationships with employees, club officials, members, guests, and visitors.

Financial

Complete financial operations and procedures when supervising shifts.

Process transactions using customer credit following established guidelines.

Complete daily reports under the direction of the Head Professional.

Marketing and Customer Service

Deliver excellent customer service at all times.

Promote all golf club activities and services as an ambassador for the facility.

Assist in organizing and recruiting for corporate events.
