Newton Covenant Church (NCC) is seeking a part-time Children’s Ministry Director to lead the development of its Children’s Ministry. To apply, send your resume and cover letter to info@newtoncovenant.org.
This position will provide spiritual, pastoral, and administrative leadership to all aspects of NCC’s Children’s Ministry. The Children’s Ministry Director will build upon NCC’s current children’s ministry, as NCC continues to pursue its vision and mission.
Newton Covenant Church is a vibrant, multiethnic, multi-generational church in the greater Boston area. At NCC, our mission is to engage with God and God’s word, foster a caring community of disciples of Jesus, bring God’s healing to our hurting world, and invite our neighbors to follow Jesus with us. Our community gathers for weekly worship, children’s Sunday School, weekly and monthly community groups, youth group, adult Bible studies, and service opportunities. Visit our website for more info.
Core Responsibilities Develop and oversee programs for the discipleship of NCC’s children – including, but not limited to, Sunday morning programs for children, as well as building community among the children and families. Recruit, train and empower volunteers to support the Children’s Ministry. Develop a long‑term vision for the ministry. Work in close collaboration with NCC Pastors, NCC staff, NCC Leadership Team, church members, and parents to achieve ministry goals.
Qualifications/Skills A vibrant and growing faith in Jesus Christ passion for working with children and their families Creative thinking about ministering to the next generation clear communicator with strong listening skills A flexible problem solver A team player and team builder
