Construction Superintendent

The Lead Superintendent is responsible for overseeing all field operations on one or more large-scale construction projects, with a primary focus on multi-family residential developments. This role provides overall leadership, coordination, and technical direction to ensure projects are delivered safely, on schedule, within budget, and to the highest quality standards. The Lead Superintendent serves as the primary on-site point of contact and drives performance across all trades and phases of construction.

Key Responsibilities

Lead all on-site construction activities for multi-family projects, including ground-up developments, podium builds, and wrap-style construction.

Champion a strong safety culture by enforcing jobsite safety protocols, conducting regular safety meetings, and ensuring full compliance with OSHA and project-specific safety standards.

Direct and coordinate subcontractors, vendors, and field staff to ensure efficient sequencing, high-quality workmanship, and adherence to project schedules.

Collaborate closely with Project Management to develop and maintain detailed project schedules, short-interval plans, and overall construction strategies.

Oversee daily field operations including scheduling, manpower planning, inspections, and material coordination.

Serve as the primary liaison between ownership, architects, engineers, and inspectors to ensure clear communication and successful execution.

Review and interpret plans, specifications, and shop drawings; proactively identify and resolve conflicts or constructability issues.

Manage and approve field changes, RFIs, and change orders in coordination with the project team.

Drive accountability for productivity, cost control, and efficient use of labor, materials, and equipment.

Ensure all work is completed in accordance with contract documents, quality standards, and local building codes.

Lead project meetings, including subcontractor coordination and progress updates.

Maintain accurate and timely documentation including daily reports, schedules, logs, and punch lists.

Mentor and develop assistant superintendents and field staff, fostering a high-performing team environment.

Support project closeout activities, ensuring successful turnover of multi-family unit s

and common areas.

Travel as required to support project needs.
