General Summary: The Senior Assistant Golf Professional is part of the leadership core of the Professional Staff, will assist with the management of the daily golf operations including, but not limited to merchandising operation, managing staff, and coordinating all tournament operations. This position will work closely with the Merchandise Manager and is responsible for the processing of all invoices related to the golf shop and department. Being a true and selfless leader and doing so by example is expected of this role. Visibility in all areas (on the tee, on the golf course, in the golf shop, etc.) is crucial to success in this role. The position will promote an exceptional “golf experience,” and provide excellent services and programs to all members, their families, and guests.

Responsibilities

Provide exemplary service to both members and guests of Myers Park Country Club. Be a willing team player, and possess a servant’s heart, and a service-minded attitude at all times.

Possess ability and desire to anticipate member and guest needs, consistently helping to facilitate friendly and professional relationships with membership.

Professionally, respectfully, and tactfully interprets, informs, and enforces Club policies with members, guests, and staff.

Oversee and process invoices for the Golf Shop and Department, ensuring all are processed and charged in a timely fashion.

See to it that all product is received and tagged before it is on the floor and available to sell.

Conduct monthly and seasonal sales and activity reports to assist with making all purchasing decisions relating to the Golf Shop operation.

Work closely with the other Professional Staff to provide an extensive number of lessons and club fittings, in addition to assisting in the management and oversight of all club repair related jobs.

Work alongside Merchandise Manager to schedule and conduct physical inventory count of Golf Shop on a monthly basis and ensuring variance goals and inventory controls are met.

Perform open and closing procedures when called upon.

Assist the Director of Golf with the implementation of all golf operation policies and procedures.

Work alongside the Director of Golf to oversee the management and execution of an extensive tournament schedule.

Assist with all Club Tournaments and serve as Tournament Lead when called upon.

Possess knowledge of the USGA Rules of Golf and enforce when needed.

Assist with keeping golf course properly marked for daily play and Club events.

Oversee daily play and serve as starter on regular basis, ensuring all groups adhere to the pace of play policies.

Assist with the upkeep of GHIN Handicap Program and Roster (updating, maintaining, etc.).

Build relationships and rapport with all sales representatives and maintain relationships.

Assist with the ordering, receiving and displaying of all merchandise.

Maintain a clean and friendly golf shop.

Perform Club Repair as needed (Re-gripping, re-shafting, use of loft and lie machine, etc.).

Keep track of hard good inventory (Drivers, putters, wedges, utility woods) and ensure all fitting carts, demo clubs and rental clubs are inventoried and kept to standard.

Serve as an ambassador of the Club by tirelessly promoting, serving and representing Myers Park Country Club, and understanding the importance of both the golf operation and the Club as a whole.

Maintain an active role in the merchandise operation, working closely with the Merchandise Manager.

Provide lessons to all segments of the membership, including juniors, ladies, men, and seniors.
