Human Resources Director

LaSalle Network is seeking a Human Resources Director to drive key HR functions across a local non-profit organization, based in downtown Chicago. This role will play a critical part in oversight of talent acquisition, employee relations, talent management, benefits and the day-to-day HR operations, ensuring a positive employee experience and advancing the organization's overall people strategy. Human Resources Director Responsibilities:

Develop and implement HR strategies aligned with organizational goals and mission Partner with executive leadership to support workforce planning and organizational development Serve as a trusted advisor on employee relations, performance management, and people-related decisions Build and foster a culture rooted in equity, inclusion, and engagement Oversee full-cycle recruitment strategy and execution, in partnership with hiring managers and HR Generalist Ensure effective hiring processes that prioritize quality, efficiency, and diversity Develop employer branding and talent pipeline strategies Design and oversee onboarding programs to ensure a strong start and long-term employee success Lead initiatives to improve employee engagement, retention, and overall experience Support performance management processes, including reviews and goal-setting Ensure compliance with all federal, state, and local employment laws and nonprofit regulations Oversee HR policies, procedures, and documentation, ensuring they are current and consistently applied Manage audits, reporting, and risk mitigation strategies Manage benefits administration strategy and vendor relationships Streamline and improve HR processes for efficiency and scalability Directly manage, mentor, and develop the HR Generalist Delegate and prioritize work effectively while maintaining visibility into day-to-day HR operations Foster a collaborative and high-performing HR function Human Resources Director Qualifications:

Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or related field (or equivalent experience) 710+ years of progressive HR experience, including leadership or management experience Strong background in talent acquisition, HR operations, and compliance Experience working in a nonprofit or mission-driven organization preferred Demonstrated ability to balance strategic thinking with hands-on execution Strong knowledge of employment laws and HR best practices Excellent interpersonal, communication, and leadership skills High level of integrity and ability to handle confidential information Pay: $50-63/hr Location: Downtown Chicago, Hybrid, 4 days on-site + 1 day remote Employment type: Contract-To-Hire Benefits: LaSalle Network Consultants are eligible for LaSalle Benefits including dental, vision, and medical.
