Fundraiser Messaging and Strategy Development
We are looking for a skilled volunteer to help us develop and refine a community‑facing fundraising campaign centered on planting 500 trees across Monrovia.
Specifically, we would like support with:
Structuring and refining our fundraising strategy and messaging.
Creating clear, compelling campaign materials (web content, one‑pagers, donor pitch language).
Strengthening our donor value proposition for both residents and businesses.
Organizing our tiered sponsorship model to maximize participation and clarity.
Advising on best practices for community‑based fundraising and donor engagement.
Helping us create a simple, actionable implementation plan for launching the campaign.
We have already developed the core concept, messaging, and program structure, and are looking for a professional to help us elevate, organize, and position it for success.
Grow Monrovia’s mission is to expand urban tree canopy, restore habitat, and build a more climate‑resilient community.
This project directly supports that mission by enabling us to:
Increase tree canopy in the most underserved areas (currently under 12% below Foothill Blvd).
Reduce urban heat and improve air quality.
Create more walkable, shaded, and livable streets.
Support biodiversity and wildlife habitat.
Engage residents and businesses as active stewards of their environment.
The impact is both immediate and long‑term:
Each tree planted provides shade, cooling, and environmental benefits for decades.
The campaign builds a culture of ongoing community participation (“1 tree per year”).
Business partnerships help transform entire corridors, not just individual sites.
A successful fundraising campaign will allow us to scale this work significantly, turning a small nonprofit effort into a community‑wide movement with lasting environmental and social impact.
We are well prepared to make this project successful and efficient for a volunteer partner. We have already developed a clear program concept, including:
Resident pledge program (“1 Tree Per Year”).
Business sponsorship tiers.
Defined benefits and community impact messaging.
We have existing written content, draft campaign language, and visuals ready to share. We have strong internal alignment and are ready to implement immediately after refinement. Our team has experience executing:
Tree planting programs.
Community outreach.
Landscape and urban forestry projects.
We have established relationships with residents, businesses, and local partners, allowing us to quickly activate the campaign.
We will provide:
Prompt communication.
Organized materials.
Clear feedback and decision‑making.
We are ready to put this work into action immediately, ensuring the volunteer’s contributions directly translate into real‑world impact.
Our goal is to create much‑needed habitat for our wildlife throughout the city through community involvement, further expanding our urban forest while fulfilling our commitment as a Tree City. Expanding our forest will create a denser canopy over the city to combat the effects of climate change and hotter temperatures. The resulting benefit is making Monrovia more walkable, improving our community’s health and happiness while making Monrovia a more desirable place to live. The sense of communal value and belonging is paramount to a safe, proactive and healthy city. Grow Monrovia’s top objective is to strengthen the community through events, workshops and community building volunteer opportunities.
