
Senior User Experience Designer

Our client, a leader in the aviation space, is seeking a Senior UX Designer to join their team on an ongoing contract basis in Downtown Chicago . In this role, you will help create a best in class user experience for frontline employees helping transform unmet user needs and business opportunities into successful employee tools.
This is a hybrid role with 1–2 days per week onsite in Chicago and offers health benefits.
Job Description
The UX Designer will design and define engaging digital experiences for frontline employees transforming unmet user needs and business opportunities into successful employee tools. The ideal candidate has a passion for user centered design and has a wide breadth of experience across multiple types of products channels and design methodologies. You will collaborate daily with a diverse set of specialists including UX architects researchers visual designers project managers business stakeholders writers and developers to deliver these digital experiences.
Responsibilities:
Identify user needs and business requirements
Visualize ideas using professional design tools
Develop intuitive usable and engaging interactions
Initiate and respond to ideas for innovation/improvements based on research analysis and competitive reviews
Drive the design of next generation navigation schemes patterns components and templates across the companys products insuring a consistent appealing and dynamic customer experience.
Create low and high fidelity interactive prototypes adhering to a rapid iterative and collaborative process
Work with usability researchers to define test plans and iterate designs throughout user testing.
Translate usability research findings into design improvements.
Ensure digital touch points become and remain consistent with user experience and brand standards
Create final UX deliverables through appropriately detailed specifications including: process flows wireframes storyboards high and low fidelity prototypes.
Create visual design assets and document visual styling specification for development team
Communicate with multiple stakeholders to review progress and incorporate feedback appropriately.
Respond to day-to-day questions from developers and product managers.
Work with QA to identify document and verify bug fixes.
Collaborate with cross-functional teams as well as business partners throughout the design process
Present design work to stakeholders and senior leadership for review and feedback.
Qualifications:
Strong understanding of UX design across web and mobile applications
Experience designing for internal tools, employee platforms, or operational workflows
Experience creating wireframes, flows, and prototypes for complex digital products
Ability to clearly communicate design decisions and adapt quickly to feedback
Understanding of accessibility best practices and inclusive design principles
Familiarity with front-end considerations and how designs translate into build
Strong problem-solving, critical thinking, and communication skills
Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced, collaborative environment
Comfortable working independently and proactively driving work forward
Highly organized with strong attention to detail and time management
Requirements
Portfolio demonstrating UX process, problem-solving, and interaction design work
5+ years of experience in UX or product design
Demonstrated experience working on large-scale internal tools, enterprise applications, or employee-facing systems
Experience collaborating with cross-functional teams on complex digital products
Experience designing for multiple platforms (web, mobile, etc.)
Proficiency in tools such as Figma, Sketch, InVision, Axure, Miro, or similar
Logistics
Preferred Hours of work: 9 to 5 pm CST
Work Location: Downtown, Chicago
Work Schedule: Hybrid, 1-2 days a week onsite

Pay Rate: $75-80 per hour - W2 Only
The specific compensation for this position will be determined by several factors, including the scope, complexity, and location of the role, as well as the cost of labor in the market, the candidate's skills, education, training, credentials, and experience, and other conditions of employment.
