Soundview Consultants

is looking to add a full-time Arborist to our team in Gig Harbor, Washington. The Arborist conducts tree risk assessments, prepares arborist documentation, and supports multidisciplinary environmental projects in the Pacific Northwest region. Responsibilities include tree identification, regulatory research, client communication, and scientific reporting. This role requires ISA certification, strong technical writing skills, and expertise in arboriculture consulting.

What will I be doing? Assist with fieldwork including individual tree assessments and tree inventories under supervision. Collect and organize tree data including DBH, dripline, critical root zone, and basic tree health metrics. Use Microsoft Excel for data entry and basic analysis. Support preparation of tree assessment reports using established templates. Conduct basic research on local regulatory codes as directed. Support wetland, habitat, and shoreline projects. Communicate internally with project team members. Follow health, safety, and environmental policies. Maintain accurate field notes and project records.

What qualifications are required for this role? Bachelor’s degree in Arboriculture, Environmental Sciences, Planning, or a related field required. ISA Certified Arborist: candidates actively pursuing certification may be considered. ISA Tree Risk Assessment Qualification (TRAQ) a plus but not required. Two (2) or more years of professional arboriculture, environmental consulting, or related field experience. Working knowledge of common tree species, particularly in the Pacific Northwest (or relevant region). Basic understanding of arboriculture principles and tree assessment methods. Familiarity with ANSI A300 standards and industry best practices.

The wage range for this position is $25.00 - $33.00 per hour.
