Revenue Analyst

The City of Naperville seeks a Revenue Analyst to perform a variety of complex analytical, technical and administrative functions related to forecasting, monitoring, and recording municipal revenues. This role plays a key part in maintaining the City's fiscal stability by supporting revenue projections, tracking budget performance, coordinating the administration and collection of local taxes and fees, and ensuring accurate recording of revenues in the general ledger. The position requires strong analytical ability, attention to detail, and collaboration with internal departments and external agencies. The anticipated hiring range for this position is $67,291.36 to $74,020.50 per year commensurate with credentials and experience. The Pay Grade for this position is E230. Duties include developing and maintaining revenue projections for major City revenue sources, analyzing historical trends, assisting in preparing revenue estimates for the annual budget, monitoring actual revenues against budgeted amounts monthly, coordinating with county, state, and third-party agencies involved in the collection and distribution of state-shared and locally imposed taxes, supporting the administration of locally collected taxes, fees, and charges, ensuring compliance with municipal code, state statutes, and intergovernmental agreements, reviewing taxpayer reports, remittances, and supporting documentation for accuracy and completeness, supporting the administration of economic development revenue-sharing agreements, assisting with taxpayer inquiries, reconciliations, and resolution of discrepancies, supporting audits of local tax remittances and compliance reviews as assigned, ensuring timely and accurate recording of revenues in the City's financial system, assisting with monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reporting, including audit support and preparation of schedules for external auditors, reviewing revenue processes and internal controls, recommending improvements to enhance accuracy, efficiency, and accountability, maintaining documentation of revenue procedures and internal control practices, and performing all other duties as assigned. Qualifications include a Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, Public Administration, Economics, or a related field, two (2) years of relevant experience in accounting, financial analysis, budgeting, or revenue administration, and a valid State of Illinois Driver's License. Preferred qualifications include a Master's degree in Public Administration, Finance, Business, Economics, Accounting, or a related field, two or more years of relevant experience in a government setting, and advanced knowledge of financial and data analytics tools including Microsoft Excel, Power BI, and SSRS reporting.
