Security Director

The Security Director manages a staff of security guards and surveillance personnel, who are responsible for patrolling and inspecting all organizational properties against theft, fire, vandalism, and terrorism. The Director of Security is responsible for developing and implementing security measures to protect the organization's assets, employees, and customers, as well as ensuring the safety of personnel and visitors while on or about the organization's premises. Lead a team of security personnel in their day-to-day duties and responsibilities. Ensure that security staff are adequately equipped and trained. Develop training plans for security personnel and maintain security training records. Maintain licensing, liability insurance and certification in line with DPS requirements to run a licensed security company. Develop, implement, and maintain a physical security (security risk management) plan for all facilities. Manage and report to management on security incidents and threats. Oversee and report on security checks/surveillance/monitoring. Authorize access to facilities and ensure that access is controlled. Maintain and review security records; periodically report on trends, anomalies, and concerns. Establish operational plans for crisis response, disaster recovery, evacuation, workplace violence, and other emergency events. Requires 5-10 years of related experience in Security and/or a bachelor's degree in law enforcement, criminal justice, security, or related discipline. Possess a broad knowledge of law enforcement methods, tactics, and procedures. Experience will be considered in lieu of a bachelor's degree. Private investigations with bachelor's degree or associate with 24 months PI experience. Must have verifiable experience with alarms and low voltage security experience. Must a minimum level 2 security license on behalf of the NVOP with Level 3 preferred and/or required completion in the first year. Must pass the Company Representative exam (open-book, 50 questions, 2 hours, 70% to pass). Must have access to reliable transportation Must have a current Texas driver's license at all times Must have applicable automobile liability insurance at all times Must pass drug testing and background check All personnel of the organization must be bondable Primarily local during business day although some out-of-area travel may be expected via airline or automobile based on the discretion of management. Travel by automobile will be necessary, and employee may be exposed to varying weather conditions. Employee will be required to work in various work environments, which will expose the employee to various hot and cold temperatures. Employee will be able to handle and de-escalate situations that may arise while at work. The nature of the job may require the employee to climb structures or crawl into tight areas in order to access and service equipment, and to work with hand and/or power tools.
